a little bit about takemi

Takemi Kitamura: Native of Osaka, Japan, graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in Dance-Education from Hunter College where she received the Choreographic Award from the Dance Program. Her work has been presented at St. Marks Church, BAX/Brooklyn Arts Exchange, BRIC Studio, WAX/Williamsburg Art neXus, South Oxford Space, Lexington Center for the Arts in Lexington, New York, and Thomas Hunter Hall. As a dancer, she has worked with numerous choreographers and companies, such as Nami Yamamoto, Sally Silvers, Sondra Loring, Risa Jaroslow Dancers, Wendy Osserman Dance Company, and The BodyCartgraphy Project, to name a few. She is also performing as leading roles in Japanese sword fighting theater group, Samurai Sword Soul. Recently, her interests expand beyond contemporary dance. She is enjoying to find new possibilities in herself, such as acting and puppetry, as a performing artist in New York.

北村武美：　大阪出身。NYのハンター大学をダンス科をBAで卒業。 Phi Beta Kappa で卒業し、Choreographic Award をダンス科で受賞する。ニューヨークで振付家としてこれまでに、St. Marks Church、BAX/Brooklyn Arts Exchange、BRIC Studio、WAX/Williamsburg Art neXus、South Oxford Space、Lexington Center for the Arts in Lexington, New York、Thomas Hunter Hall等で作品を発表している。ダンサーとしては山本奈美、Sally Silvers、Sondra Loring、Risa Jaroslow and Dancers、Wendy Osserman Dance Company、The BodyCartography Project等，様々なカンパニーや振付家と仕事をする。2006年からは殺陣を初め，現在 Samurai Sword Soul のメンバーとして活躍中。最近はコンテンポラリーダンスの枠に捕われず、アクティングやパペット等、幅広いパフォーミングアーティストとしてニューヨークで可能性を広げている。
